Know before you jump

Frequently asked questions

Everything people ask us on WhatsApp, answered properly. If yours is not here, just message us.

Before you book

Do I need any experience to do a tandem jump?

None at all. You are harnessed to an instructor who has done this thousands of times, and they handle the exit, the freefall, the canopy and the landing. Your only job is to arch and enjoy it. The briefing takes about twenty minutes and covers everything you need.

How far in advance should I book?

For the autumn season, four to six weeks is sensible because it books out first. Spring is quieter and two weeks is usually fine. We only fly twelve jumps a day, so the constraint is seats rather than notice.

Can I jump if I am scared of heights?

Most people can, and a lot of our jumpers say the same thing. Fear of heights is usually tied to being connected to the ground, on a ladder or a balcony. At twelve thousand feet there is no reference point and it feels completely different.

Do you fly all year round?

No. We fly two seasons, roughly April to May and mid October to the end of November. Outside those windows the monsoon or winter haze closes the dropzone. The season calendar shows exactly which dates are open.

Requirements

What is the weight limit?

Ninety five kilograms fully clothed. This is a certification limit on the tandem rigs, not a judgement about anyone, and it is not something we can stretch on the day. If you are close to it, message us before you book and we will talk it through honestly.

How old do I have to be?

Eighteen, and we will check your passport or citizenship card at the dropzone. There is no upper limit as long as you are fit enough to lift your legs for landing and get in and out of a small aircraft.

Do I need insurance, and what kind?

Yes, and this one is not negotiable. You need a policy that explicitly covers skydiving, because most standard travel insurance excludes it. Bring the policy document or have it on your phone. Without it we cannot let you board.

I wear glasses or contact lenses. Is that a problem?

Not at all. We have goggles that fit over glasses. Contact lenses are fine too, and the goggles keep the wind out.

Can I jump if I am pregnant or recovering from an injury?

Not while pregnant. For an injury or a recent operation, message us and describe it, and we will tell you honestly whether it is sensible. If there is any doubt we would rather you jumped next season than took a risk.

On jump day

Is hotel pickup really free?

Yes, anywhere inside the Pokhara valley, both ways. It is included in every package. Platinum gets a private vehicle rather than the shared van. If you are staying outside the valley you meet us at the dropzone instead.

How long does the whole thing take?

Budget around three hours from pickup to being dropped back at your hotel. The jump itself is about seven minutes from the door to the ground. Most of the time is briefing, gearing up and waiting for your load.

What should I wear and what should I leave behind?

Trainers with laces, comfortable trousers, and a light layer because it is much colder at altitude. Leave loose jewellery, watches and anything in your pockets at the hotel. We give you everything else.

Can friends and family come and watch?

Yes, and we encourage it. There is space at the landing zone and it is a good spot to watch from. Tell us in the special requests box so we can keep seats in the van.

Weather and cancellation

What happens if the weather turns on my date?

The chief instructor makes the call by 05:00 on jump day and we message you on WhatsApp straight away. If we cannot fly, you get two free reschedules to any other open date in the season. If we cannot fly you at all before the season closes, you get a full refund of everything you have paid.

How many times can I reschedule?

Twice for free when the weather is the reason. After that there is a small fee, because a held seat is a seat nobody else could book. If you want to move the date yourself rather than because of weather, tell us at least seventy two hours ahead and we will move it once at no cost.

What if I cancel?

More than seven days before your date, the deposit is refunded in full. Inside seven days the deposit is kept, because the seat is very hard to resell at that notice. If we cancel for any reason, you always get everything back.

Photos and video

What is the difference between the packages?

It is entirely about how well the jump gets filmed. Deluxe gives you the instructor handcam. VIP adds a cameraman who jumps beside you, so you are in the shot rather than behind the camera. Platinum adds a second cameraman and aerial angles, plus the first slot of the day when the air is calmest.

When do I get my footage?

The handcam files are handed over on a card before you leave the dropzone. Edited reels from the VIP and Platinum packages take two to three days and arrive as a download link.

Can I use the footage on my own social media?

Of course, it is yours. We only ask that you tag us so other people can find us. If we want to repost something of yours we will always ask first.

Payment and refunds

How and when do I pay?

Nothing is charged when you submit the form. We confirm your slot on WhatsApp first, then send you a link or bank details for a twenty percent deposit. The balance is paid on jump day, by card, bank transfer or cash.

Why are there two prices?

Nepali citizens pay in rupees at a local rate, and foreign nationals pay in dollars. This is standard practice across adventure tourism in Nepal. We check a citizenship card or passport at the dropzone on jump day.

Do you give group discounts?

Yes, from five people upward. Message us with your numbers and dates and we will quote you properly rather than making you guess from the website.

One thing worth repeating. Insurance that covers skydiving is not optional and it is not something we can waive at the dropzone. Most standard travel policies exclude it, so check yours specifically rather than assuming.
